William M King began his karate training in the Japan Karate Association of Boulder dojo September 1986. On 2 March 1991, he earned his Shodan (1st degree black belt) ranking (Reg #IS-USA-1-0476). On 1 April 1992, he opened and began teaching Shotokan Karate-Do at Harambee Karate Club. On 15 June 1993, he earned his Nidan (2nd degree) ranking (Reg #IS- USA-2-0279) followed by his Sandan (3rd degree) ranking (Reg #IS-USA-3-0273) on 19 December 1997. In September 2001, he earned his “D” ranking as a karate judge. On 15 March 2003, he entered the ISKF/JKA Instructor Training Program in Denver, Colorado. He completed a comprehensive program of classes, papers and examinations covering karate history and philosophy, kinesiology, basic and applied techniques, self-defense, lesson planning, et al in 2008. In June 2003, he earned his “C” ranking as a karate judge. On 13 March 2004, he earned his Yondan (4th degree) ranking (Reg # IS-USA-4-0212). In June 2006, he secured his "D" ranking as a certified Instructor followed in 2008 with his acquisition of "D" ranking as a certified Examiner.
This is a continuing course in SHOTOKAN KARATE. Emphasis is placed on character development, self-discipline, health and flexibility training and self-defense. Skill levels in our students range from beginner to advanced. Most of our classes are small and individualized instruction is available when needed.
As used here, Harambee, a Bantu word adopted into Kiswahili, meaning to pull together, is about melding body, mind, and spirit to effect a unity of development in the practicing karateka.

Classes Tuesday and Thursday. 6:30- 7:45 p.m.
Fee: $50/ Month per person. 
NO CONTRACTS.
Family Discounts Available.
Ages 10 to Adult. Students 6-10 welcome when accompanied by parent and/either older siblings. Visitors are welcome, please phone or email before you visit.
New students accepted the first three sessions of each month.

Dojo is located at 414 So 3rd St in Superior, CO. From US 36 go south on McCaslin Blvd to Coal Creek Drive. Turn Right. Go to 2nd St. Turn Left. Go south on 2nd until it curves back to the West. Dojo is on the corner of 3rd St.
